Frequently asked questions
If I need chaperoning to a hospital appointment, do you stay and wait for me to be taken home?
Yes, as a chaperone we stay with you for the duration of the appointment, we’re as flexible as possible to ensure that you’re comfortable and safe. Contact us to discuss more about how we can help.
Do you provide personal care, washing etc?
No, we’re not carers but we do care! At Silver Smiles we want to support you being as independent as possible, not everyone needs full time carers, they just need an extra helping hand with day to day tasks. That’s why we provide domestic assistance and/ or companionship to those who need it.
Do you keep family members updated on how they’re doing?
Of course, at Silver Smiles we pride ourselves on communication with our clients and their family and/or friends. We know it can be stressful to find someone you trust to support the ones you love, so we work hard to keep an open bridge of communication so all parties feel safe and comfortable.
Do you provide visits on the weekends?
We do our best to provide support as often as we can, unfortunately weekend availability can be slim but we’re constantly expanding and doing our best to increase our capacity for weekend visits.
What is the maximum amount of time you can provide for visits?
We do not create set packages as we know everyone is different, we work closely with you to make a plan that suits you and your loved ones. Visits can be as little as half an hour to 5 hours.
Are your staff DBS checked?
Yes, all our staff members have a fully enhanced DBS check.
